Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnosis
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is the term for a number of different therapies that are designed to help people sufferring with problems such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and habits such as overeating, binge-eating, hair pulling etc.
CBT was developed from two types of psychotherapy: Cognitive therapy, designed to change people's thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and expectations and Behavioural therapy designed to change how people acted.
CBT works by examining the way we think about a situation which then affects how we act and feel. It is therefore necessary to change both the act of thinking (cognition) and behaviour at the same time. This is known as cognitive behavioural therapy.
CBT is highly effective for many people and has been well researched by the NHS. However waiting times to see a therapist on the NHS are very long and people sometimes need immediate help. We have appointments available now!
When you combine CBT and hypnosis, the effects tend to be more rapid and are often more effective than using CBT alone.
Give us a call if you think CBT will help you.
